Macs on Parallels

I installed Parallels and Windows XP on my Mac and after downloading some music am wondering if while on the internet via Windows I am protected from viruses if I have anti virus installed on the Mac. Do any of you Mac users have Parallels? Did you have to install protection for it? None came with the program as far as I can tell.

Using Windows opens you up to any/all potential threats unless you are using antivirus software in Windows...having AV software on the Mac side will not help you at all.

Thanks. About what I figured. Wonder why no trial AV came with the Windows OS.

Try the free version of AVG. It works pretty well. I don't run any AV on my macs, just the Windows (virtual) machines.
