My money lens, the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8

I love love love that lens, I'm a Pro Motorsports shooter, and having that lens gives me the same quality as the bigger-heavier-more expensive Nikon 300mm 2.8 primes, and I have a zoom

All the other guys at the tracks are total snobs about not using zooms, but I've managed to change a few minds with the shots I get.

That shot was hand-held btw, probably from no more than 10 feet away. It's a heavy lens, but I'm got panning with it down pat

Yea, it's not cheap but it certainly delivers. It is still cheaper than the Nikon 300/2.8 primes though.

The Sigma 120-300 is on my short list and is actually the cheapest long lens I want.
I also dream of the 400f2.8, 500f4 and 600f4 but that combo would buy me a Harley

I imagine I am going to get the 120-300 soon as the Canon 300 f4 IS is really too slow for high school football around here.

Hey!

Turbo, excellent shot of the Morgan race car.

That Sigma is a very interesting zoom. Probably only one of it kind. I don't think any camera company make zoom with this range and with f2.8!

I agreed with you that using zoom give you more flexibility and with this likely to get more pictures. And performance of top zooms today are not far off single focal prime.

It is such a perfect day today!

I just washed my 2003 Honda Accord with TL bi-xenon HID headlights

Bua ha ha ha.

TL bi-xenon color mod and cut-off. The HID light is intense.
