I had to work from home, but I got to drink my coffee and listen to my system instead of my headphones at work.  It was quite pleasant.

My neighbors make what they call "Apple Pie". It seems to be apple cider, cinnamon sticks and everclear 190 proof mixed in mason jars; left to steep until a party breaks out somewhere.  :eyebrows: I don't think its illegal, but its REAL GOOD! It'll sneak up on you, that's fer sure!!!  :thumb:

Went outside this morning and felt (for the first time) what -24 with -49 wind chill feels like in Brookings (SD). High today was like -8 for a brief period. :o Only my second winter here. Last winter lasted nearly 6 months and was dreadful. I guess normally it lasts more like 4 - 4 1/2 months. This winter I'm experiencing the lowest temps recorded since 1979. Yup. I'm getting bent over by the ice king and I don't like it. :? It's my wife's fault (moving here).......but I agreed to it.

HOWEVER there's a very nice upside to all this. I now have my own space and get to listen to music on my setup for hours daily. To top it off, the wife has never questioned anything I've purchased (and I've bought and sold A LOT of stuff over the past year +). I think she knows she needs to at least let me have my toys........if anything, just to help me keep what little shred of sanity I have left. :thumb:

Minus 25-30 degrees F wind child.   Lake effect snow machine churning and burning.  Just a 20 mile band but it's the worst I've seen in Buffalo since moving here in '89.

I just noticed that it must have been -6 degrees yesterday! (I have a new digital thermometer, and the - is way over to the left of the number.) Its also almost impossible to see at night. Today its warmed up to a more temperate -2. Thank God for global warming!!!! Imagine how cold it really would be right now if man hadn't messed everything up!  :o I'm sure Al Gore has planted soo many trees with all his carbon credit monies that we've averted a major catastrophe. :fishing: Its time to get on the ICE, BOYS!!! Thar be some GIANT perch in them-thar hills!!!

Being lazy I pay to have our 300 foot gravel drive plowed in the winter.  Today I watched two of them working at it for almost an hour (they kept getting stuck, at one point both were stuck).  Now we have 6 foot piles, less wind, and sunny skies with a clear drive (for how long?).
