Title: audio detect delay
Post by: thxultra on 18 Oct 2003, 04:24 pm
Has anyone else got this problem with there SP1 or SP1.7

When the layer change happens on a dvd the bryston drops the dd or dts signal and picks it up when the film starts again but it doesn't pick it up quick enough and theres about a second were theirs no sound.

Also happens if theirs any drop in the sound signal from the disc which also causes a delay in the sound starting again.

regards

I had the same behavour with my SP-1 and now have it with my SP-1.7.

If I get a blip on my digital cable receiver then my SP-1.7 will also click and clack, which is what I would expect.

However, I'm a bit surprised that my Sony DVP-NS700P DVD doesn't buffer enough data to prevent dropouts during layer changes.

Hi Jethro

Think it must happen with all players, mines an Arcam DV27+.Guess its just something brystons do,more of an nuisance than a problem really.
