5.1 Channel Room

A 13' x 23' space that yields a 9' listening triangle as currently setup. Acoustat Model 3 (MK-121 interfaces) mains; Martin Logan Theater center; GoldenEar SuperSat 3 surrounds and M&K 2000 sub in a 5.1 setup. Associated equipment is currently a basic Samsung 1500 blu-ray (that's right - definitely not a videophile here) used only for DVD/blu-ray; Onkyo TX-SR805 pre-pro; Sunfire TGA-5400 amp; Logitech Squeeze Touch for digital; LG THX 60" plasma. Usually a Technics SL-1210M5G with Audio Technica AT150MLX MM resides below the Martin Logan Theater Center but it's currently out of the way until a new center bracket to support the center channel just under the display is completed and installed. The planars are obviously very poorly positioned but that is the only configuration this particular room supports as the space is multi-use. To combat the corner placement challenges until an alternative solution is found a very large quantity of varying depth acoustic foam is positioned behind the dipoles such that much of the rear output is absorbed in order to avoid image smearing and frequency response anomalies in exchange for the loss of efficiency that comes with cancelling almost half of the total output.
