Still waiting. Last we spoke about it, Albert and Damon are down to two competing designs, both floor standers. 2-way with an 8" and M-T-M with 6.5" woofers.

No Schmu Sorry I wasn't too clear :)

Candidate 1

1" tweet, 8" woofer Floorstander

Candidate 2

Pretty much the VR-33 or 35 without the rear 10". It could be MW-T-MW or T,MW,MW

Good that you are giving your inputs :) Perhaps we can help Albert decide which to release as I hear both designs are very good but as they say "There can only be one"

I'm a bit conflicted myself. I know an 8" in a VSA QTL arrangement will go lower than many a three way but I'm wondering if there is a strong demand for 2 way floorstanders.

I guess the VR77 concept has bitten the dust as they say.  I like the idea of a substantially tall passive tower that could be paired with a couple of subs.  I think I've hit on something pretty special here running my VR5 annies with a pair of lowly Velodynes.  It's dialed in and kicking butt making any sort of "upgrade" a tough sell.

well, ideally i would love von schweikert to design a big 3-way standmount with 8 inch woofer, 5 inch (or smaller) mid, and the tweeter he uses everywhere else. something like yamaha ns-1000, or PMCs or these sony ones: (http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/a7/9/AAAAAsLTG_AAAAAAAKecGA.jpg?v=1196838072000 ) but done by albert.
