Roy Haynes Trio, w/ Pattitucci and Perez. Mostly live in a club. Verve, 2000. I don't know a better view of what a great trio can do.

My great sounding, mainstream jazz recording is Sheffield Lab, Dave Grusin, Discovered Again. It's not like his other albums, recorded live direct -to-disc. (I feel like the Plus version has too much boosted bass.) The louder you turn it up, the more live it feels.
