Intro - Cajun needs help.
« on: 18 Mar 2024, 04:04 am »
Greetings from Louisiana -

Started my hi fi journey a few years ago and at the point where I can use some help.

My system consists of Bryston L/R Model T's, a Bryston TC1 middle channel.  I am in the process of adding TIW in the ceiling for back channels.
Amps are two 7b's biwired to the Model T's and 4B run in mono for the TC1.

I originally had an SP3 that was returned to Bryston for service.  Nothing but great things to say about Bryston's products and customer service.
The SP3 was deemed unfixable.  I have been informed from Bryston that the SP line has been discontinued and am cautious about purchasing a used SP3 that may end up being "unfixable".

Limping along on an SP2.

While I am happy with Bryston, I feel I have no other choice other than to move out of the Bryston line for a HiFi 5.1 surround system.  The size of my space and design of my home does not really allow a 7.1
Quality stereo system is as important to me as quality surround sound system.

Considerations include:
Bryston SP2 – what I am currently using.
Lexicom M-10 – no longer produced; however, may be adequate for my needs.
Lyngdorf MP-40 – not familiar
Trinnov 16 altitude – way overkill; however, seems cool.  Bi-amp center channel with two xlr outputs???
Storm Audio – The foundation for the Sp4 from what I understand; however, at that price point will likely look at Trinnov

Any experiences with those products or any other suggestions would be much appreciated?

Thank you.

L

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
