For Sale: a Music Reference *EM7 SET amplifier 2.5 watts/ch in solid walnut. This is the finest SET amp I've had (and have had several el84, el34, 2A3). But, I've returned to the solid-side in the form of class D. What I so love about this amp is coherence, speed & fulness. Coherent, I speculate because the input tube and output tube share the same bottle (half of each tube is input/ the other half output). Speed, probably cause it is a smallish bottle. Full, probably cause it is a fat bottle. Also because the case is entirely solid hard wood, there is a harmonically organic sound: in my fringe-y experience, we resonate with plants cells more than with plastic or metal. This unit is custom made by Roger Modjeski (who somewhere praised the original buyer for thinking outside the box when he ordered this--I am not the original of this one, but I ordered one of Rogers first of this model just over 10 years ago). This one has a volume control, brass nut speaker terminals (but silver banana adapters included), has no on/off switch so a power strip must be used. Included are 7 sets of tubes of which 5 pair are RAM tube matched pairs & 2 pair on not matched (easily a couple hundred $ for this tubes)--which should give a lifetimes use...the amp does not run too warmly. These tubes are from the 1950s and are said to be electrically similar to 2a3 tubes. Great condition, just one small corner bruise on bottom. I should keep this but am financially not able to. Asking $877 (free USPS Priority & PP) Sincerely, Tom Ash

If this one is gone, you can always DIY one:

Thanks for that, but it won't be old or have that great walnut cabinet!  :green:

Cool, didn't know you could still get these, all-be-it as a kit. Seems I remember last that a finished wood & MDF fiber board was $1250.
