Title: RMAF 2014 - if one were a fish
Post by: justacoder on 11 Oct 2014, 03:15 pm
When we first arrived at RMAF yesterday, we took some photos with a fish-eye lens.

Although they have a tendency to cause dizziness and wonder about what paintings would look like if Van Gogh was a fish [maybe Picasso WAS a fish], they are fun to look at for short periods of time ;-)

More photos, many more photos, most without using a fish-eye lens :-P are on our blog:

The show hotel

The main entrance [so understated ... :-)]

The Atrium. A small part of the CanJam overflowed here, but many of those rooms you see on the top two floors are playing music [floors 4 and 5]

The Mezzanine overlooking the first floor activities, which this early were nil. One has to watch one's fingers or one's fingers get into the picture...

The WBT room. Not much to see, but without a fisheye, all the photo would show you are bits and pieces of this room and all other rooms like it.

The Music Vendors

CanJam [while standing on a very rickety and thin chair. Need to borrow a ladder for this to really work. Very crowded, even this early in the show]

OK. Don't forget, we aren't really fish, so breathe....

Don't forget to demo a little Johnny Winter while you're there.

Yeah. The finger [seems to be my pinky. how.... cute]. Its in every single darned one of the photos.  If it wasn't such an attractive finger, I could be really kind of annoyed  .... ;-)

Johnny Winter. That album cover rocks. Now there is a person who knows what things really look like... and, you know, how to play guitar :-)

Photos from floor 10 and about half of 9 are up. Try to post some more this morning before heading to the show .

Enjoy!
-Mike

This photo, from the last day of the show, is with the 16-35mm lens not the 15mm fisheye.

All to say that when this lens is at its widest angle, as it is in that photo there, its fishy, but it isn't so wide that it turns around and peeks back up at me and my little finger like the fisheye lens does :-)
