Any recommendations? I am thinking of using a filtered version like this

Bruno doesn't recommend that type of IEC.

For what reason? I want a super vanilla IEC in that case - no switch (as I am making one on the front)

Also - your recommended IEC inlet wont fit on the silicon ray hole?

Thanks for this by the way (sorry didnt want to sound negative above!) :)

I can't remember what his reason was.  Sorry.

Really?  Strange since I used the one with the switch in the Silicon Ray cases when I did the tour builds.  It's been a while though and there are plenty of IEC connectors that do fit. Heck, I think SR ships the cases with an IEC that fits.   ;)

I just hate my siliconray, my fault for buying the montrosity. I wanna build something out of wood. Perhaps a wooden box to surround the silicon case would make sense. I assume that wouldnt cause any issues (though Im still trying to work out how to vent mine better, I basically just want a big mesh on top)

I prefer the Furutech IECs with rhodium plating, they have two... the pricey one (FI-33 I think) uses wire clamps like their receptacles, the other much less expensive one has tabs you can solder to or use push connectors.

I actually have two Oyaide ones, since I couldn't find anything else that fit at the time!! Platinum and Palladium or something stupid. I am annoyed at this since i want to use the same metal as on my iec cables...

I too used the Furutechs with the screw clamps. Reasonably priced and worked with my Silicon Ray case (although I might have had to a bit of filing to make them fit).

If you can afford it the Furutech Fl-33 R.  Sonic Craft has a sale for the month of March

Can anyone tell me what I need to look for in terms of spec for cables?

I dont subscribe to power cables making a difference, but its having enough amps etc I need to think about. I want a locking device, like the below. Would they work? Thanks!

Not tried them myself, but if you are looking for those IEC-lock connectors Canford also have a range:

...only thing is they use 1.0mm2 wire, not sure whether you might want something beefier or not.

I can't remember what his reason was.

The typical T or pi filter actually connect the mains and the supposedly totally isolated earth/ground (through a capacitor).
