TX102 Remote Kit question
« on: 1 Jul 2003, 09:19 pm »
Just to avoid any nasty surprises, is it possible to get the stepper motor to run in the opposite direction?

The only way I can fit the motor into my pre is to have the motor facing the 24 pos switch rather than alongside it.

This means that when pressing 'up' on the remote the volume will decrease and vice versa, can I rewire so that it runs the opposite way?

I've already tried inverting the red and blck wires with no joy.

Thanks in advance

Hello!

Sorry for the late reply! I usually keep on top of the board here but was away for a bit. Back at it now....

I can picture what you are doing with the motor mounting. Because it is a stepper motor reversing the leads does not change directions like it would with a DC motor.  It is run from step to step by the microcontroller board and to change direction the steps must have their order reversed. It's easy to flip in software and I can send you over a new controller chip - just shoot an e-mail through to john@bentaudio.com and we'll get the new chip made and on it's way.

Many Thansk!
