Monos vs xTreme Monos for bookshelf speakers

To owners of XTreme Monos,

Hi, I currently have the Stratos Monos driving a pair of Nautilus 805s.  I've been reading with envy those who have the xTreme monos but for me to ship my monos back to Klaus from HK for an upgrade is going to be prohibitive in terms of cost.

Question:  Do the xTreme Monos make a big difference for two-way speakers like the 805s over the normal monos?  Or do they only make a big difference for current hungry 3 way speakers.

Thanks for your comments.

Cheers
Charles

Sorry for the OT post, but me-thinks we ought to have an amp shootout in Hong Kong!  Hopefully the rest of the HAM concurs!   8)

I think you would only notice a big difference on speakers that are a hard load to drive. You could always email Klaus and ask.

I would call Klaus--he's very honest with his opinion.

I say SAVE your money and s&h.  It's overkill for a 2 way IMHO.

In my own experience I can only say, with Odyssey Epiphonies as example:

They (he speakers sound great)

With the Stratso mono they sound even better,

but with the Extremes they are completaly other, sound bigger, tighter, sweeter, incredible difference is what this new amps yield...

Hey I'm game.

How does Saturday 21st June sound?

The monos are beasts to carry and since I don't have a car, I wouldn't mind having the comparison at my flat.  But if someone has a car and willing to help me transport it, I'm game.

Cheers
