What to do with your old Hemp drivers?
« on: 16 May 2008, 05:58 pm »
Hi Louis, I know many Hemp customers have and will upgrade to Alnico drivers.

I was wondering if the traditional 8" Hemp might be a good driver for a DIY open baffle speaker. I created a post in the OB Circle. They want to know if you can supply specs for: XMAX, FS, and QTS.

Do you have any thoughts on this idea? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If any owners are interested in selling their old hemp drivers I would happily buy a pair. I own 8" hemps from hempacoustics and would love to replace them with Louis' version.

I recall Louis experimenting with an OB design a little over a year ago, with what appeared to be encouraging results.

I'm curious about this as well, and would love to hear Louis' input. :thumb:

Hi Kent,
I replaced my Visaton B200 8" drivers with Louis' alnico 8" hemps (which I love), and I sold my old drivers on audiogon.com.  They were sold in 2 days.
