Hi,happy owner of Ida-8 here...looking for an upgrade.Listen mostly  jazz and classic at moderate levels (65-75 db.).I´m deciding between IA-9X and AMG STA amps.Which would be your choice here ?Both are very good,but their subtle differences are beyond me.Thanks in advance.

I'd thought that might be the case, but didn't wish to presume it without first checking with you.

I haven't heard the IA-9X, but I do have the Omnia A300, and quite like its sound. I also <just a week ago> received the DAC-9X. I've paired it with my Evolution STA, and I very much like how they sound together.

Go for IA-9X.  The AMG STA is too smooth and warm for your music preference. On the other hand, the AMG One has a different sound characteristic than AMG STA.
