maggies can be a challenge to set up for best sound, but there is much info on the web (and on this site) to help you do it

Welcome aboard!

When I had my 1.7's I had them spread out a bit wider than you with tweeters outside and about 10-15 degrees of toe-in. They sounded pretty good in my less than ideal listening room. Sound absorbers placed behind the speakers may help with imaging.
