Sarah Lancashire plays Julia Child as she starts her new career during the early days of Public TV, which was at that time, stuffy, high brow, male dominated and boring. I last saw Sarah as the reserved cop in “Happy Valley.” In "Julia" she plays a wonderful, unassuming, playful, foul mouthed Julia.

Some episodes have slow parts but overall this is a delightful series. A nice change of pace after watching "Halo."

It's hard to keep watching the show, however, when they have deleted from history Ruth Lockwood, who was instrumental in helping Julia Child establish herself on TV.

In a profile published by The New Yorker back in 1974, Lockwood was even described as "the person primarily responsible (with the Childs) for The French Chef’s style and format",
