groneberg cable direction

Why the hookup direction for the groneberg cables. Does this really make a difference in the sound or is it for some other reason?

If it's an interconnect, it might be that the shielding is grounded at one end and open at the other. IIRC, the grounded end connects to the source. It's just to help reduce or eliminate hum, ground loops and such.

If it's speaker cables, then I have no clue unless they are bi-wire cables, then it should be self explanatory.
