Hello.
I used mapad all day and I must say it has solved the main problem was the bdp1, is really very nice.
Would only solve the problem of cover for the collections that are not on the database amazon.
In use, turn off every time I search by artist, but they are teething problems.
When the next release of firmware will solve the problem of waiting times our bdp1 will be perfect.
Could you explain something?
What will change when the bdp1 will work with NTFS hard drives?
I originally had hd NTFS and read them, what will serve the possibility of writing?
Thanks and sorry again for my bad English

Hi pimandro

We are looking at the NTSF 'writing' for the next software release.

I can not understand what it's for the chance to write on NTFS using the bdp1.
What should I write?
Thanks for the reply

Hi primando,

If you want to transfer a file over the home network to an attached USB drive on the BDP-1 then the usb drive has to be formatted FAT32.

Most USB Thumb Drives come formatted FAT32 already but USB Harddrives are usually formatted NTSF and have to be reformatted to FAT32 (easy to do) if you want to use them as a destination drive on your BDP-1.

Hi al,

I have 3 BDP-1 units at home  - 2 green and 1 blue.

The 'thing' on top is the electronic crossover for the Sanders electrostatic speakers.

james

James,

so the unit you took the picture of is a blue one?

Hi al,

The time - NO - .... the current Song is always displayed as is the Artist

The time is shown on the interface used.

Not that I know of - but hey I'm still learning. :) The front panel display is totally separate from the playback circuitry (including its own circuitry and power supply). So the front panel display would have to change software and interact with the playback circuitry.

Here is an explanation of the cover art issue: http://www.katoemba.net/makesnosenseatall/2011/03/05/cover-art-in-mpod-and-mpad/

Hi James,
Now that MPaD is the interface of choice, we can't get cover art if we're not connected to the internet and only then if Amazon have the artwork.
The link explains how to fix your BDP-1 firmware.
MPad only reads Folder.jpg if you make the fix suggested to the Bryston firmware.
How about getting your Beavers onto the job?
I entered bryston-bdp-1.local/player field and that didn't work
Thanks,
Terry

James,

let's say someone has 2 BDP-1 at his home and both players are "on". now the person uses his iphone/pad/touch for remote service.
question: what can be done to avoid that both players react at the same time?

The Network would see them as BDP-1 and BDP-2.

Would they not have different TCP/IP addresses?
You could distinquish them that way

Yes you can set a Static IP address through SETTINGS on the Bryston home page if you want.

Hi pimandro

We are looking at the NTSF 'writing' for the next software release.

james

Hi James,

Any idea when the next software release will be available that will allow NTSF writing? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply James, looks like I'd better re-format my HDD to FAT32 then to allow transfer of files over the network.
