What is your 'comfort music'?

There are several of these 'What are you listening to' threads,, but I thought there might be room for one more.

Recently, Yo-Yo M posted a video of himself playing Bach and titled it 'Comfort music'. Bach is certainly high on the list. I remember hearing someone talking about anxiety after 9-11 and being suggested Bach as ago-to when it seems life is falling apart. I go to it a lot. 'Kind of Blue' is another staple.

So, what music, artist, and/or album do you go to when you need musical comfort?

Album art welcome

No, that's not what I meant at all.

For some, it might mean some fire-breathing Stravinsky. What music do you go to when you need to turn the world off?

Where I'm from it's considered disrespectful to refer to people in the third person btw.

Hmm...seems like someone is a bit cranky from having to shelter in place.  :D

I think I know what you mean. Comfort Music for me would be Trance Electronic music of some kind. I quite often will play Livemiles by Tangerine Dream this one however in not Trance.

Trance Electronic would be something like Klaus Shultze 'X'. Also have several others, God's Kitchen- A Clubbing Summer would be a good one as with disc 1 & 2 would be a couple hours of play.

Bach and Coltrane for me.  Bach soothes the left side of my brain and Coltrane soothes the right side.

Cello music, performed by Stjepan Hauser, 2 cellos,  Yo-Yo Ma, and others.

Very relaxing, excellent stress relief.

Add Chris Botti and Chet Baker to that as well.

Lately I've been chilling out to Julian Lage's Arclight album. I'm normally not a jazz-y guy but this album really does it for me.
