New X-Statik and X-Voce Build
« on: 6 Aug 2019, 02:19 pm »
Hey guys,
Been a long time lurker here.
We recently upgraded our tv and I have pulled the trigger to order and build these kits.
We all know new TV needs new speakers.   8)

This speakers will take some time to complete but I am happy with the progress we have made.
I have made a few modifications to the original print.  Front baffles are 1" Thick.
but after gluing them on, I am going to need to brace it some how.
Also, I decided to pass on the 10 degree angle of the top of the bass cabinets.
I have decided to not upgrade the crossovers at this time because the new TV needs a new couch as well.

They are  looking  very  good,  nice  work     :thumb:
All those  x-series  speakers  are   such an amazing  deal.  You're going to be so impressed. Later, down the road,   consider   a sealed  or even  a pair of  Ob  servo subs.  Either  wold  compliment  your new speakers very well
Can I ask about  finishing  plans  ?

Keep the pics  coming

Thanks everyone!
As for the finishing, it will be painted in one way or another.
Lots of prep work.
My wife is wanting more of a modern look to the room.
So it will be a light color.

Had some time to assemble the center channel today.

Needs some decals. Maybe some pink hearts or yellow moons... :o

In all seriousness, looks good. I'll bet you're anxious to hear them.

Those are looking good.

I finished mine about 6 months ago and they are really starting to open up (not much playing time at this point). You are really going to enjoy them, so hurry up and get them done.

I speed the break-in process up considerably by letting new speakers play almost constantly. At night I turn the volume down low enough that it doesn't bother anybody sleeping then turn it up during the day when no one is home. I set up a playlist with 24-48 hours of varied music and let it go. After two days I turn them off overnight then start up again the next morning. This way I get 120+ hours of break-in a week.
