I have never cleaned the outside of the lens as I'm not sure I'm supposed to, and projector is ceiling mounted . Cap is left off .
No dust or any problems .

Should the lens be cleaned ? If so , how ?

BenQ is going back because of a fan issue . Overheating , shutting down.

Will they clean the lens as part of the fix?

I get Zeiss lens wipes for my glasses and every of couple of years when I remember, I'll clean it.
