question about O-3
« on: 7 Apr 2013, 05:05 pm »
hey now.

i was looking at the O-3's and i really like the idea of the idea of them. ive owned the audio nirvana (super 10s in a 5.6 and super 10 and standard 8 in a 2.8 ambiance) and i did have a driver firing from the top baffle in the 2.8 ambiance.

but heres my question- from what i gather the purpose of the one driver firing up with the audio nirvana was to create more bass. the midrange and highs were lost by firing up but the low end wasnt lost. so with the one full range driver firing from the front baffle i got all the mids highs and lows and with the other firing up i got extra low end.  with the O-3, does the same idea apply? is the midrange lost?

No, in the O-3 all of the mid-range is played by the front woofer. It crosses over to the tweeter at 1.8kHz. And this is measured at tweeter level.
