Death Cab for Cutie's "Georgia EP," direct from the band. It's really nice, including a decent cover of my favorite REM song, "Fall on Me."

Sting  Songs from the Labyrinth
A collection of lute music from John Dowland.  I've had the cd for years, but never seen a vinyl copy.

And...

First issue Paul Gonsalves 1960

Went to my local used record store, Meteor, I was looking for a small bookshelf speaker w/ 8" woofers.  Found a new 'The Specials' 45rpm full sized lp with just three songs.  'Ghost Town' b/w 'Why' and 'Friday Night Saturday Morning'.  I have their best of CD.  40th anniversary edition of the song.

James Taylor "Hourglass"
I've loved this cd for years, great music, demo quality, great singer in his mature prime.  FINALLY it was released on vinyl a few years ago (but I just noticed it).
So, the label Analog Spark did an audiophile remaster and release.  The vocals, already clear, are even better yet still relaxed.  The bass is mixed a bit heavy and soundstage may not be quite as good as the cd... but still excellent.
Glad I spent the $$ on it.

They kinda oversell it, clearly looking for audiophile buyers.

A couple of new vinyl arrivals.  My experience with Mobile Fidelity over the years has been hit and miss.  So I don't buy everything they release that might be of interest.  But they hit this release of Eldorado out of the park.  This is the best this album has ever sounded.  But their "Supervinyl," whatever that is, will set you back $59, and that is a lot of money for a title pressed on a single 180g LP cut at 33 rpm.  So I won't be buying many of these either.  I haven't spun the Dream Syndicate album yet.  I have an original pressing of it but was happy to see a 180g reissue.

Haven't bought vinyl in quite a while, and then I found this in a record shop in Arkansas!  :o

That album cover does scream 70s, doesn't it?

I've been backtracking through this thread.  There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of vinyl buying shared here these days.

Here are some new arrivals for me.  Well, not really new arrivals.  I bought all three of these some years back and allowed them to get away from me (a long story that I won't go into here).  The AP release of Pet Sounds is on two 180g LPs cut at 45rpm.

I'd love to hear that AP pressing of Pet Sounds.  I've got a sealed MFSL that I bought probably 25 years ago.  I really should sell it and find a good copy to listen to.

I was at the local record store yesterday.  The owner kinda depends on me to keep his classical section in good shape. After an 45 minutes sorting and rejecting crap, I pulled an Alicia de Larrocha for me to take home.
London CS 7009.  Not a mark on it, but a slight warp.  London/Decca pressing of that time were quite good.
Such a shame that Granados died young.  He was coming into his own as a musical superstar.

I normally don't take pictures of albums but this is pretty cool, a sealed Mose Allison album just showed up, been sitting in the shrink wrap
 since 1970.
Today they would call it 180 gm release!

Early copy of "Madman Across the Waters" booklet included.
Vinyl NM
Cover VG+
I've always liked the album and this one was just too clean to pass up... but not a two buck Goodwill find.  Set me back $20.
Over the years, I've never regretted money spent to get a NM copy vs one cheaper but not as nice.

Billy Joel — The Stranger
Boz Scaggs — Silk Degrees

Filling out my collection with some classic stuff I've missed.

Several nice lp's came up on Ebay yesterday:
Angel 45 Sonic Series- Concierto Aranjeuz with Angel Romero solo  and Scheherazade  with Rostropovich conducting
I'm a fan of the those 45 rpm Angels.
Also a sealed copy of Beethoven's 5th on Japanese Denon
and a copy of music of CHAVEZ / MONCAYO / REVUELTAS called Music of Mexico on Varese Sarabande.
All NM.

Went to my local shop nearby and they had a huge amount of good new stuff come in. I had to put a few back cause I got a little carried away. I guess it's a perk and a downside to supply chain issues getting better.

Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth
Brother Ali - Us
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Mars Volta - Noctourniquet
Say Anything - ...Is A Real Boy
Converge - You Fail Me
Converge - Jane Doe (2010 45rpm white vinyl pressing)

I probably put back 5 albums to make sure I got the Converge album as I haven't seen that album pop up anywhere before. It was a good day.

A few years ago we had a member named JimdGoulding who taught me a lot about quality vinyl.  His collection wasn't huge, but it was full of high quality vinyl... stuff I'd only read about.  High quality vinyl today has reached stratospheric prices.
Today I picked up an Analogue Productions "Pines of Rome" RCA Reiner in a 2 record 45 rpm pressing. Not cheap, but cheaper than new stuff.  I've got a decent RCA  copy, but I'm looking forward to the dynamics of a great pressing.
