Availability for next R-DES shipment?

Dear Sean:

I know that the first shipment of the new R-DES subwoofer parametric equalizer came out last May, and by all practical purposes, was sold out by the beginning of June.

I ordered a R-DES from one of your dealers around the middle of June, and he has been very kind in keeping me updated whenever he has heard something from you.

My next obvious question is, what will the next shipment be available? Please don`t tell me soon, since I have no idea how long that is. ;-)

It`s been almost 4 months since I`ve ordered one (pre-payed), and I would like to think I will have it in my system by the end of this year? Really, how long does it take to manufacture a new shipment of the R-DES units?

If you could please give a definite time-frame for another shipment, it would be greatly appreciated!

I have one of your UFW-10 subwoofers, but I just can`t seem to find the best position to place it. Obviously that`s where the R-DES would be invaluable.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

         Charles.

Charles,

Sorry I missed thie earlier.  We are not only manufacturing new units, we made some changes as well and this is the cause for the extended backorder timing.

Changes to the software include:

* Remove the HP in favor of another band of PEQ
* Unity Gain Structure
* Gain knob in the control panel.  This allows you to set different overall gain levels for different presets!  Very cool.

So, when will it be here?  Soon (hehe)

Really, we are testing the rev'd software now.  There were also some hardware tweaks so that must be tested as well.  To make matters a little slower, the sw engineer of R-DES sliced off part of his palm last week(!) and after an ER visit, it's a bit tough to type (as you can imagine) so that is slowing us down a bit.

Hang in there for us if you can!

Dave cut open his hand?  Ouch.

BTW: Gain knob for each preset is exactly what R-DES needed - meets my wish-list for making better music/movies presets (music flat and movies hot).

Yeah - the definition of a freak accident.  He was playing soccer, leaned up against the score board for a moment and when he when to run, his hand got caught on a piece of sheet metal and...let's not talk about the rest :(

Important R-DES Update...

I hope this note finds you all well this holiday season!

I have a difficult message to write to you all regarding R-DES. As you know, we have been working hard on getting ready to ship before the end of the year. This was not an official release date but something we just really wanted to do. We could ship it now and it would likely be just fine however I don't want any doubt that the product is perfect (in my mind) so I have decided to hold it back until January so we can complete our extensive testing. There are just a few things left to put through the proverbial wringer but I don't want to rush rush rush just to make a self-imposed deadline.

Thanks for your patience and we will post another update as soon as we have completed testing.

Got my UPS shipment notification today! :D  can't wait to try out the new and improved version.  Even with the defects, I can not live without the old version, I can not imagine a new and improved model.
