Just discovered an up and coming young blues singer tonight on CBC's "Saturday Night Blues"—Angelique Francis. She's from Ottawa. She's now 22 and has just released her first CD. Here is is at the age of 17, killing it with "Swing Low". The sax solo is inspired.

It may be old, but something about this seems fitting and it's definitely an absolute favorite of mine: Zappa with 'Son of Orange County' and 'More Trouble Every Day'.

Sadly, you can't do that on stage anymore.

One of the software vendors I use for my musical instrument sounds is holding a competition. They have edited a 4 minute car chase sequence from season 3 episode 5 of Westworld on HBO. They stripped out the musical score and everyone entering creates their own and uploads it to YouTube.

I hope you like my entry. I had a blast making this. It was fun and educational for me. First time doing anything like this. I have to say, after doing this I am acutely aware of all music behind movies and TV shows. It's almost distracting.

I like it, pretty cool!

But that movie, from a "car guy" perspective was painful to watch on multiple levels.
The biggest one being, all that automotive ultra high tech, but the car apparently lacks anti-lock brakes, traction control, skid control.
The damn tires squealed with every movement of the vehicle. Seem the writers of this haven't driven a car (or watched a movie) newer that the 80's.  :duh:
And when it went sideways around the turn.....

I feel the same way.

I think your musical contribution demonstrates a good understanding of the genre and good potential, but the chase scene is a groaner, with apparently 20-40 mph chase speeds when they would be doing 70-100 mph with such seemingly high tech vehicles. The editing is less than stellar, too.

It seems chase scenes in American movies are often amazingly good, but occasionally really lame. Some of the worst came from the 40's through 70's, where there was apparently one car engine sound no matter the vehicle, one door slam sound, regardless, and you got tires squealing on gravel and dirt roads...
On the other hand, the best chase scenes I have seen were almost all in American made movies.

I think Ronin still has my favorite car chase in a movie.

As I read Russells words, I was thinking of Ronin as well.  :thumb:
And yes, I forgot about the squealing tires on tire roads.
Don't forget about the cars exploding in mid air when they fall off the mountain side.

A rare treat, here's an isolation video of Danny Carey during Tool's performance of 'Pneuma' at Boston's TD Garden in November of last year - fantastic!

"Mother" - Roger Waters
Yea.... we've heard this one a million times. But this is the "Covid version". Gotta say, for YT quality, it sounds pretty good.
Highly recommended.

One of the great things coming out of these times is great artists recording great tunes together, from home.

This has 18 views right now. Good grief.

Oh, for Christ sake.... Her channel only has 15 subscribers? Hell, I've got more than that!  :?
There is something definitely wrong with society, that's just unjust.
I've been listening to her for... what.... 20 years now?
I fell in love with her "sound", but never sub'd to her YT account. Man.... that's so wrong.

I get it. I fell in love with her years ago on one of those "Live at Daryls House" videos.
So beautiful, in every way.

Another 'from home' video, published a few days ago. Here's a portion of what Ryan Roxie's folks have to say about it:

THIS is what it looks, sounds, and feels like to play in a 3 Guitar Band. Music taken from the instrumental jam that takes place during the current Alice Cooper Live Show...
