Newest version is 1.6.1

If you look at in the iPad App Store, you will see the update as being available.

Well, I updated my iPoD and iPaD to v. 1.6.1 and suddenly they wouldn't connect until I entered the IP address of my BDP1 as the server. Mysterious!

It is a nice update. I think the BDP-1/MPad combo is tough to beat.

Hi,

In MPOD the settings are set at Folder.jpg under Filename and I use http:bryston-bdp-1.local/music under URL.

That being said the MPAD is much better at getting the album art it seems over MPOD but being connected to the Internet is required for a lot of it

james
I was going to post the following for help as I am doing all of the above and not getting the cover art.  When you say it is best to be connected to the internet I thought I was if the iPad I just purchased is on my home network.  Anyway my post was going to be as follows:
Just purchased an iPad to control my BDP-1.  I have been using 2 iPod Touch’s and getting some cover  art ok but many rips were done in WAV  until I started FLAC rips to get cover art.  Now all CD’s are being re-ripped in FLAC uncompressed for all the WAV files.  My first rips were great with cover art appearing as expected.  Next day I could not get any re-rips with cover art in MPad but in Bryston MAX no problem and even iPod app on my iPad (looked kind of silly!) showed the cover art.  Trying my 2 iPod Touch’s no artwork just like in MPad.

I know the cover art appeared in MPad initially but not now and I haven’t changed anything that I know of.  All my music files are by album with the required folder.jpg in each album file.  When I move the new rips over to my 1TB HD attached to the BDP-1 I am doing an “Update Database” inMPad as I was not able to get Settings is Internet Explorer any more to do an Update.  In Firefox I see under Settings a Reboot BDP-1.  Is this what I should be using for updating music on my HD attached to the BDP-1 rather than the Update Database in Mpad?

Any help would be appreciated.  Maybe I’ve got too many iDevices now!!!

Hit 'Refresh local cache' and if that does not work reload mpad using the double click and delete then reload feature.

I had already tried your first suggestion and no joy.  The second suggestion did the trick....THANKS!
Is "update database" in MPad the right way to update the HD attached to my BDP-1 rather than "reboot BDP-1" in  the Bryston settings in Firefox?
Cheers,

Is anyone out there having trouble with MAX or MINI? When I bring up the icon on my IPad the screen is blank and then I get a message "Cannot connect with server".  So I then went to safari and tried bryston-bdp-1.local to no avail. Then I put in the IP address and got the MAX screen but it just continuously said "loading" but it never did. When I clicked on the "BRYSTON" logo in MAX, I got the settings page which shows MAX, MINI, Settings but I can't bring up MINI or Settings.
I recently upgraded to the 10/11 firmware. Can this be the reason?

Any help would be appreciated.  James? Chris? Anyone?

Could be.
I too have noticed odd stuff with the latest firmware and MAX.
Like, delete your playlist then you find you can't add new stuff to the now blank playlist. But not every time!

I'm not too bothered with MAX as I use mPad and MAX has never run reliably for me.
I needed the latest f/w to fix the Firefox bug which was a show stopper for me.

They've added some new stuff for www radio stations but I haven't a clue how it works as there is no documentation

The VFP doesn't seem to fit the iPAD display correctly anymore. It's too big now.
Was ok in the 1st OCT f/w release

Hi Terry,

Make sure you save it to the home-screen first.

So, I've just done that and it made no difference.
Pinching the screen made no difference either.
I then discovered that if I flipped my iPad around into landscape mode it fits.
Is that how it's supposed to work?

Hi Terry,

Yes that makes sense - landscape is the best option.

Can the BDP-1 be re-booted via MPaD?
