Outstanding, in every sense of the word.

The Christian McBride album 'Getting' To It' has a supercut for bass.  Christian is playing the a bass solo on the last cut, Night Train.  It is THE most stupendous bass cut I've ever heard.  You can hear every nuance of the standup bass.  I'm a lover of Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten, Brian Bromberg, Marcus Miller, etc.  The rest of the album is also good, but that one cut is worth the price of admission by itself.

John McLaughlin Trio's 'Que Alegria' is an awesome sounding disc with a whole lot going on in percussion in addition to McLaughlin's guitar playing and the bass.  A lot of fun on this one.

Josefine Cronholm album 'Wild Garden' is beautifully recorded with very nice music.  Very easy to listen to and it grows on you.

Tommy Emmanuel..CGP!!

What else is there to say about this guy!!

I have been able to see him play twice in a small venue, front row and both times it was awesome ideed to hear him and see him play...what a wonderful person.

I got to see Chet Atkins once before I heard of Tommy....Chet was Tommy's idle and mentor here in the states in those early years.

I will have to get this one!

Thanks
Alex

I have a few demo cd's and was looking for some older pop stuff that was well recorded etc...with sooo many remakes and re-masters out there its hard to find the really good ones.

Recently I was looking for a group called "Bread"

I looked around and found this one:

It may not be your kind od music but the recording is a great example of
how well some of the old stuff was recorded....great depth, you can hear inside
the songs...really sweet to me!

They were the "I want to make it with you" band. I'm glad it's a good recording for you.
They were so not what we were into back in the day. It was probably classified as soft rock.

Anyway,  It's very cool what you're thread has become, very much appreciated. This entry did give me a chuckle,  thanks

The Papa Doo Run Run California Project is a first class recording of a Beach Boys cover band. They might do the Beach Boys better than the Beach Boys, I know heresy. Came out in the mid 80's and was one of my first cd's. Still listen to it.

Last night I listened to the 50th Anniversary Music From Big Pink CD. We are all likely familiar with the music; I've listened to it for those fifty years. This re-mastering is very good throughout and in places is simply exceptional. Definitely worth the price of the CD. (Belles, AVA, Marantz, Song 3).

Let me add one more (for now): Metro Express. Metro is a four man group playing rock/jazz instrumentals. I found it because one of the fellows was Chuck Loeb. I appreciate his playing in whatever setting and here he lets it fly. He died in 2017 from cancer. The record is perhaps a bit on the processed side but it will work the mids very nicely. Check out cut 7.

My first rec on this thread hope you like it.  Yuko Maruyama In Tone Nation includes some great jazz classics.  This CD was recorded uncompressed--just listen to the clarity and expressiveness deep into her key strokes:  https://yukomaruyama.com/music/

The Great Organ of Saint Eustache - Jean Guillou - Dorian DOR-90134
I put my Song3aA through paces with this. IT IS NUTS.  I turned it up too loud once and wound up with mild PTSD I think.

I found this on Tidal, but I can’t find it using Roon/Tidal... it would be nice to add this to my Roon reference cuts playlist. I’ll have to listen first and then search and add afterwards I guess

I stand corrected, I added to my collection in Tidal and I now see it in Roon as a playlist! Never did this before, pretty cool 😎

I’ll guess yes... I just found it myself on Roon/Tidal and added it to my library. I’m really looking forward to listening to this one later on this weekend  :thumb:
