Yes, I am very happy with the Epson pj and have been watching lots of movies and sports since getting it. Moving up from my older Panny 720p has really produced a noticeable jump in quality and my enjoyment.
I have been playing with getting the picture to my liking (maximizing the color pop, while keeping the beautiful blacks and maintaining excellent contrast) and need to take some photos this weekend.
I haven't tried the newest Panny and Mitsubishi, or Ben Q pj's, so I can't directly compare the 8500UB to other pj's in its price class, but I can definitely recommend the Epson 8500UB based on its picture, flexibility, quality, and service/support.
