A heads up for all of you that frequent here...
« on: 31 Oct 2010, 10:06 pm »
or even infrequent here.

I having a medical issue that is slowing me down quite a bit.

About 2-1/2 years ago I contracted a serious case of MRSA that required me to be on IV antibiotics for over 2 months.  Since then I have been very careful with any type of injury or infection.  When I went to RMAF I had to go to the emergency room in Denver to treat a soft tissue infection in my right thumb.  I have been struggling with this infection since then and I am now in a hand cast on my right hand to prevent injury to my thumb.  I had a series of X-rays and they have determined that the MRSA may have migrated to the bone in my thumb.  I am slated to see a hand surgeon this coming week and we will determine the course of treatment at that time.

This means that I have been slowed down quite a bit doing what I do.  I am still able to work, albeit very slowly, and will continue to get products out.  That won't stop no matter what.  Just allow a little extra time, please.  Being self employed means that I have to work to pay the bills.

I would appreciate all of the prayer and good thought that you can direct my way.

Thank you all and God bless.

Dave

Sorry to hear about your health issues Dave,, getting old can really suck as I can attest to (diabetes/ foot neuropathy). Hopefully the specialist will have a painless & permenant solution so you can get this finally put behind you.  :thumb:

Dave,

Obviously, take care of yourself first. My SIL had a very serious MRSA infection to the elbow while out of the county on a mission trip and it took very aggressive action when he returned to the US to deal with it.  Thankfully he had a great healthcare provider here who was all over it from the start and recovered well.

Prayers are with you and family.

Having had the MRSA infection 3 times in 3 years, I have had a sample of what you are going through, though not as serious as the condition you have currently. What seems to have worked for me, to keep from getting this nasty bug again, is to use a quaternary ammonia detergent added to my regular laundry detergent, and bathing with Hibiclens. Hope you get rid of the current situation and hope it NEVER RETURNS!
