Just got a new tube Amp.   SCST says 4 ohm design, 6 ohms nominal.  Am I wrong in assuming I should use the 4 ohm setting?  Thanks in advance.

No harm in trying both.

See which one sounds better. The main thing with a tube amp is to always have a load hooked up to it when it is on. Some amps are very sensitive to this and could blow tubes or components. Turn the amp off when changing from 4 to 8 ohm taps. Solid state amps are just the opposite and can take no load when turned on.

Yep, that's exactly what I did over the years with my original Songtowers. In my case, I ended up leaving it on the 8 ohm tap. This may vary depending on the amp used, but let your ear decide.
