A Flexible DIY Tube / Valve Tester
« on: 18 Apr 2023, 10:29 pm »
For too long, I wanted a tube / valve tester that could test under 'actual use' conditions, match sections on dual triodes and run power tubes at close to voltage and current in actual use.

Finally, I got off my duff and did it with many thanks to all the ideas extant.

It's easy to modify for various tubes or add a 'patch bay' and external adapters for almost any tube.

The circuity is on a PCB making robust, modifiable and repairable.

Schematic, BoM, CAD drawings, wiring sketches supplied.

I'm happy to assist with any questions.

Assembling a tube amp is difficult enough, mounting tube testers are more tough and dangerous than tube amps.

Really cool!  I like what you've done with all the hi/lo toggles.  And it looks like it can be made quite affordably.  Well done!

And it looks like it can be made quite affordably.

About $350USD for all new parts. About $30 to $40 of that is extra shipping for stuff that could all be ordered at once from Mouser.
