are you liking the Modwright combination?

Both great guys and companies, just curios since i see most Salk owners choosing AVA Gear.

One of our members asked about Modwright and I shared that you own a 36.5 in a system with HT3's.

Yes, I'm using Modwright gear with HT3's:
A full MW suite of TP, 36.5 and a pair of KWA 150's.  A great combination that gets the best out of the HT3's.  :thumb:

I would like to give my +1 to TJHUB's post! I would very much like to hear your system sir. Very nice indeed. I not sure of the exact wpc of the kwa 150 but a pair driving each HT3 with the amp at close distance, WOW.

Very Very nice!!!!

Hi Phil,

Do you listen to the Ht3's with the screens in place?

Do you have any perceptual issue with the non tlted subjacent center?  Nice gear!

Thank you very much

To answer the questions:

I did a mini review of the KWA with the HT3's on the Modwright Circle -
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=64421.60
Also made a few comments today on using a pair of KWA150's earlier today.

Next step is to go to a two box 36.5

I listen to the HT3's with the woofer grille in place but not the mid and tweeter grille.
Also the HTC is angled but difficult to see in the photograph, I had Jim mount the HTC on a B&W Nautilus stand that I was no longer using.

The HT3's rock with this quality power, and so does the whole house

Yeah, gotta agree...  Phil, you have one seriously badass system there!  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I also use some Modwright gear (36.5 and Transporter) with my HT3s, but my amplification come compliments of a Parasound A51.  If I had the coin, I would pick up a pair of KWA-150s...  in a heartbeat.  For the time being, though, even one of them is out of my range.  Phil and I have traded a few PMs about the pairing, and he has me absolutely drooling with that pic! thanks a lot, Phil!  :green:

That said, I am very happy with the combo that I have, even though I have often wondered how AVA and Modwright gear would sound when compared side by side.  I think that perhaps the biggest reason that Salk owners often choose Franks gear is that AVA offers a lot of bang-for-the-buck, as do Salk speakers.  Plus the fact that there is a well established friendship between the two companies, and their owners.

Modwright satisfies sound, sight and touch more than anything else that I have found, and I am not willing to compromise on any one of those senses.

Does MW 36.5 get really warm?
