Short Scale Bass

Any body have some hand-on experience with the short-scale bass?

I'm an old hand with 40" scale ones. Been playing the p-bass, fretted and fretless j-basses for ages. But I'm interested in a short-scale one as well.

BTW. I don't slap. I use keyboards if I need slapping bass. Sound much better.

The cons?

Thanks.

Alex

I had a Mustang for a few years in college when that was all I could afford.  The neck was fine - no problems with strings.  Easy to play.  The only downside was the overall quality.  My pre-'BS Jazz is a much more solid ax.

I have several pre-'BS axes. Including a few fretted and fretless Fenders. So, it won't be my only bass, I'm more concern with sound.

I'm interested in the Mustang/Bronco, the Hamer, maybe even a Jay Turser / Essex shorty p. too.
