Storage cabinet

Hey guys,

What do you like for storing lots of small parts and stuff? You may image I have an ever growing collection of electronics parts...

Well I need to stop using cardboard boxes filled with loose assortments of maybe related things.

This seems like maybe a nice solution. I might have to replace a few smaller bins with a few larger ones. The depth is nice, width is nice, and height. The color isn't great, and the sheet metal doesn't scream awesomeness but it isn't expensive and would work.

What are you guys with lots of stuff using?

Do you need/want the ability to lock doors? Do you want doors?

If you do not require doors, you can save a few $. Take a look at these: https://www.globalindustrial.com/searchResult?searchBox=&q=Yellow+Shelf+Bins

I use these for small parts, various sizes available, and on sale once a month or so. The little boxes are remove-able so they work well on the work bench.

Doors are good for dust. I couldn't care less about the lock.

Sadly the one with trays but closed off from dust, and no doors is a lot more.

I would still need a cabinet, and then fill it with storage stuff. I have a portable soldering & rando parts Bosch tool thing. Right now it is about less portable storage. Maybe I should just get a cabinet and then put organizers in it. I would need to do it rather smartly. You can get good sized small drawer ones for not much, but I need a few bigger ones. Wire is awkward...

I built a half dozen Festool wheeled SysPorts and these fit perfectly right where the Systainers also go.

Recommend not limiting yourself to one size of bin.

If dust control isn't critical consider bin systems that are open/adjustable/rolling racks.  Others provide brackets for wall mounting.

A fishing tackle box (or multiple boxes) works.
