Gary, it's gonna take a while to just link the pics i have up already!! This is gonna be a bandwidth intense thread.

1st up: The BD-Pipes that started my current FR streak.

and another:

The BK101s (with FE103A) i still use regularily in my shop:

the 1st miniOnken (FR125s) that started us on the path to generating a whole family of these boxes.

Bamboo PAWO with modded FE127e (upgraded to FE127eN now)

Bipolar, bipoles with FR125S on one side & WR125 + tweet on other.

4.5 litre aperiodic FR125S (our favorite for this driver to date)

Tim Forman designed FR125S bipole ML-TLs (the ones with the tweeters are Scott Dunn's)

Factory TQWT for PHY-HP 8 (this box sucked, too bad it is a beauty)

Fonkens + miniOnken (3rd one is the original)

Bamboo Fonkens

mFonkens

uFonken

Fonken167

The 1st Frugel-Horns

Our RonHorn Austin A126

Fonken Floorstander Mk II

Castle-style microTowers (EL70eN)

Mileva (FE127eN)

Double Bevel FonkenPrime prototypes

F120AeN Fonken-steen

Fonken + FonkenWoof proto

Classic Golden Ration Fonken

microTower with CHR70eN

modified Wild Burro Bestsy in the test OBs

Same baffle in their storage space with Omnes 8

extended version of the baffle (16 ft wide) with Sounds of Music alnico 6.5

Prototype Mar-Kel70 (primeSize miniOnken with EL70eN)

Buschorn MkII )RS 40-1197)

The Blue & Yellows

Seaked Aura NS3

Aiko with Lyeco driver (which sucked, works really well with FE108eS)

Thirlmere-R prototypes (EL70eN)

I'm sure i missed some but that should give a taste :)

Thanks guys. Some cool pictures fr sure.

Dave, I thought I'd seen most of the stuff from your lab, but I guess I was wrong. Excellent work. You are a great asset to us fullrange listeners. What did you think of the 8" phy drivers?

I started this thread so someone thinking about the single driver approach could have one place to look at what there options are with pretty pictures.

Keep them coming.

Here's a few more from me.

This is a little box based on a Frazier design using the FE103

Coral Flat 6 in an old speaker cabinet sized according to Coral's plans

The FE167 also in an old speaker cabinet. Not one of my favorite drivers.

Dave...you are THE Man!  :thumb:

Here are my Lowther based single drivers I've had over the years;

PM2As in the MLTL

The Medallions

their entrails

Lowthers in the Teresonic Cabinets

This is the design I finally setted on. I serious doubt I'll ever move from this configuration.

...and then Mark Blackmore's Lowthers on a Stick (PM6A)

I should probably not post my humble photos, especially after the beautiful speakers from Dave, Scott, etc.

These were my first open baffle speakers from a couple years ago.  Not very nice looking but sounded excellent.

I used the Fostex F200A full range with 15" Hawthorne Audio Augie for helper woofers.

Most recently I had a pair of Supravox 215-2000 Field Coil open baffle drivers on JE Labs baffles built with Plyboo.  I loved these speakers.  They sounded incredible.  The old point and shoot photos do not do justice to the beauty of the bamboo or the driver.

What did you think of the 8" phy drivers?

They really need a tweeter. And in that box they sucked.

Thanx for posting that. It really illustrates how simple a very good FR (FAST in your cas) can be.

I know a pic is worth 1,000 words, but we need some words, too as to which designs work good, better and best.

Thanks for post the pics!

Thanks very much for showing humforgod. Very few would go to the effort you have. I prefer your gentler curve over the German speakers theirs is more a three sided cabinet as opposed to a curved open baffle.
