Updating files
« on: 30 Jun 2011, 09:51 pm »
While my hard drive is attached to the BDP-1, is there any way for me to get new files onto it without having to remove the drive and plug it into my computer?

Thank you.

Mike,
Yes, you should be able to see the BDP-1 in either MAC Finder or Windows Explorer.  You can log on to the drive by using the bryston/bryston userid/password and then just drag the files over to the BDP.

Tony,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Well I'll be bygoshe'd and bygollied!  There it is.

Also, picked up one of your DAC's and am testing it today.  The folks are Audio Advisor have been exceedingly helpful to me and out of a recent conversation about an errant interconnect, they turned it into a sale of your DAC.

Am listening now and it sounds promising.

EDIT: Oops, I keep getting security violations.  Know what I am doing wrong?  Thanks.

Mike,
I am not connected with Bryston other than as an owner/user of their great equipment.  I am just a forum member and I like to help out where I can.  I am far from the expert.  We depend on James for that.

It sounds like you may have some firewall issues.  You might need to add some permissions or turn it off.  I gave up Windows about two years ago and have been using a Mac since then so I have pretty much forgotten my Windows frustrations.

Hey Tony,

You have been very helpful, especially yesterday when you gave me the settings for the player to work on my iPhone.

Maybe James can jump in here when he gets a chance.

Are you using the Bryston DAC and the BDP?

Hi Mike,

I am not a computer expert either and I am not familiar with or heard of the security issues before so I am not much help. In one of my setups I use Windows 7 on a PC with no issues so far.

When it asks you for a login and a password to get access, what do you use?

Thanks.

Also, I there someone around who can help me if I can't get it figured out?

Yes my system is pretty much all Bryston: BDP-1, BDA-1, BP-26 and 7BSST2.
