I'm new to the site as of today so I figured I would say "hi". I also have an audio problem. (I think that's the first step, admitting you have a problem).

Fortunately, many audio problems can be solved just by throwing money at them.

Throwing money at a problem is a brute force approach that only sometimes works.  Analysis is a better method.

So first, define what you understand the problem to be.  IMO most audiophiles over buy gear for the given room.  (Rooms are ill shaped, too small, shared use that limit setup options/time).
