Come one guys, any suggestions on a name?  Danny's "North Texas Audiophiles" suggestion seems to be the one to beat so far...

What, the "North Texas Audio Fags" doesn't work for you?...

The name "Audiophiles" sounds so serious.  I've heard people have confused it with "Pedophiles".   :o

How about "North Texas Audioholics" (or Audioholics of North Texas "ANT")?

Whatever it is, I'll go with the majority.   :D

I'm in Garland and I'm in for sure. Sounds like a lot of fun for all of us. Lets do it! Figure out a good name though. I know the person who says were all "audio fags", but what does SHE know!

North Texas Audio Herd?  (Or "Heard", for a somewhat weak attempt at cleverness)

Any one see a name they especially like so far?

Moooooooo!!!

Yeah, the "North Texas Audio RoundUp" name seems workable (although "Audio Plexus of North Texas was kind of clever).

It looks theborg is willing to create the circle for us, so I guess I'll pick up the facilitator role to make that happen.  This thread has meandered along for a bit now, so I'll just pick one of the previously suggested names later today if I don't get any more input.

Going once....

Watch it Josh.

Don't make me come up there.

While those who call me quickly note that they have contacted a man from the South, I am the furthest thing from a guy that you would associate with the words "round-up", "herd", "cowboys", or any other huckster terms.

While Texas is known for its Western heritage I have yet to see it held to high regard with the Audiophile community here.

I tend to favor:

Audiophiles of North Texas, or North Texas Audiophiles.

I agree with Xi-Trum, "Audiophiles" sounds serious. Like Frazier and his brother Niles and their society of wine snobs.

I like ANT. We can do alot with that acronym.

Me too. :D

So, now we have 2 votes for ANT.

If it makes you feel any better, Danny, I was raised about 1000 miles North of DFW, and appear unlikely to add any Southern or Western traits to my character.  :)

True, but how much of a Mafia is there in Denver and how angry are the Southern Californians?    We won't even talk about NY and their "rave"!  :lol:

I was trying to encourage some level of uniqueness in the name, but those suggestions would probably withstand long term use more gracefully.

Hey not bad for a Yankee.

I kind of like that too.  :thumb:

Sorry brj but anything like the "Audio Rednecks" and the like just didn't fit me that well.

That is funny though in a stereotypical way.

How about "LSAS?"  Lone Star Audio Society.

And coming into the 3rd turn, we have two contendors fighting for the lead... will it be:

a) Audioholics of North Texas (ANT)
b) North Texas Audio Jam ("We be jam'n!")

Sorry, all "yippie-kai-ayh's" have been booted from the race by transplanted Northerners!
