Has Audiogon's domain name expired or worse? Check this out. What's going on at the 'Gon?

I saw that this morning as well.  I hope it gets fixed soon.  I'm certain it will.

I can open the home page, but my internet security program notifies me that it's blocking the pictures as unsafe. When I hit 'Enter' on a search term, I get a full page notice from the security program stating that the page is on a banned site list.

Looks like they have lost control of the domain name, and that it now points to a different site.  Some of us can reach it because we have the old IP address cached.

Hopefully they'll get this sorted and distributed over the next few hours.

Opens OK then if I go past first page on any item or category listing it fails.

Some kind of hijack for ransom?
Because the real site can be reached with old markers, I would think it is a hijacking of some sort.
When I Google the word and click on the site, it comes up, but the ad section is broken. the forums work though.

Someone got fed up with their exorbitant fees?

Page caching was a good idea in the past with slow Internet connections and slow computers, but in present day I think it makes more sense to always check for new pages and know you're looking at current information.

Internet Explorer:
- Go to Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Browsing History Settings
- Under Check for newer version of stored pages: select "Every time I visit the website"

Firefox:
(Firefox has a somewhat convoluted method of eliminating page caching that is not available under Tools: Options)
- Enter about:config in the URL address field
- Scroll down to browser.cache.check_doc_frequency
- Right-click, select Modify and change the value from 3 to 1

Okay, so I cleared all the cache, changed the setting to look for the new page, and over-rode the best advice of my security program. This is what it looks like from here:

Interesting - Herndon, VA is the next town over from me where their mailing address is.  I have to sell some stuff at some point.  The fees have gone up lots over the course of time.  I look at the site several times a week though just in case I see something that someone wants to trade or sell

My reference to page caching was in response to those that said "Opens OK for me" or "I can go to the home page, but then....", and was just relating my experience with browsing in general and pages that frequently change content.

There is apparently a problem with Audiogon's domain registration and Network Solutions has redirected to the page you're getting.  It's hard to belive that a $10/year domain registration fails to get renewed, but it does happen, and who knows exactly the cause in this case?

Interestingly, audiogon.net seems to still be valid, but of course any links from that page are redirected to audiogon.com.

The forums do work, at least I was able to read some discussions there.  Not biggie, they will be back up, greedy and very effective as well for selling $$$$ gear.  Although it has been swamped as of late with tire kickers and bottom feeders.

The 'Gon is Back.

Nope.  It calls up UNTIL you go look at an ad, then a error message pop up.  If you can't see the ads, it does not work.
