Position of Center 4.0 Marble
« on: 11 Oct 2003, 06:07 pm »
I just got a marble center 4. I'd guess its about 25 lbs. Looks and sounds great.

I have a Mits 48311 RPTV. I placed the Norh on top of the TV as I have with lighter centers in the past. It sems fine but I am wondering what experiences others might have had. I'm less worried about someone knocking the Norh off the TV, than damaging the TV.

Any opinions? Is there a better place to place this if the top of the TV is no appropriate?

Thanks,

Dave

I've had a marble 9.0 @ about 70lbs on my RPTV for 3 years without a problem.

You should try to prop the back legs up a bit to point the baffle down to your normal listening position.

I have done this with books under the rear feet of my 9.0 and in another system I have a marble 4.0 on a Sony 36" XBR.  The shelf on top of the XBR was not quite deep enough so I had a shelf made from "Russian" board and underneath this I screwed in two rubber door jams.  This made it the perfect angle for my normal listening position.

Congrats on getting that 4.0 it is a wonderful speaker.
