Newly Finished N3/N3S Center/N2X-Piano Black

Attached are pictures of a newly built GR Research Neo series speaker system in Piano Black that I just finished for a gentleman in Pennsylvania. The sysytem consists of a pair of N3 TL towers, N2X monitors, and a N3S center channel. Each speaker has all the performance upgrade options including Platinum bypass capacitors in the crossovers. The sound of this system is wonderful. I am very pleased with the way the speakers turned out but it was very time consuming to build and expensive to have professionally painted.

Very nice!  They are so nice they need a GR logo on the front bottom.

Thanks guys ! I appreciate the compliments. The gentleman I built them for is driving down the first of next week to pick them up in person rather than me shipping them. Shipping cost would have been very expensive for this system.
I am going to give him the GR Research Logo's to place on the speakers where he want to. I presently have a new finished pair of N2X's in natural cherry to sell if anyone is interested. Also have new N3S cabinets I just completed in the same cherry finish but haven't ordered the parts kit yet.

Very nice Ron, I really like the bevel on the grill covers, instead of a round over.

Great work Ron. Those look amazing!
Did you send them to a car painter or a furniture finisher to get them done?
I've attempted to get that finish quality at home but I just haven't got there yet.
I like 'em!!

 Graham,

I had them professionally painted by a local automotive paint shop who did a very nice job, No way could I have achieved the quality finish at home that they did. They used a two part urethane based paint which gives a very nice deep glossy finish but unfortunately is quite expensive.

Hi Ron,

Those look great.  I'm really glad you and Brian hooked up so he could finally see this dream system come to fruition....he had a real bad experience with the first go round of this system.  Once he sees them in person, I'm sure his smile will be bright enough to see from here in Pittsburgh.

Brain, have a safe round-trip adventure and enjoy the music/videos on those beautiful speakers.

Nice! :thumb:

Did they buff only, or did they go the whole 9?

Thanks,

Ruben

The only other close ups I have Ruben are ones of the N2X monitors and the rear of the N3 TL.  Hard to get good pictures due to the glossy black surfaces being so reflective.

beautiful speakers! Ron, how much of a roundover did you put on the front baffle? Would you mind taking some closeups of the front with the grill on?  I want to do a beveled grill like that, but I'm wondering what it would look like with rounded edges.  I'm thinking of going with square edges as those might look better with beveled grills.  There's the whole diffraction issue, but I'm not sure if my untrained ears will pick on that.
