No idea Mariusz, it belonged to Chris, the Wolfy.
The Paradesia had a sweet sound, which was nice compared to his (Chris) Electrocompaniet DAC, which was ultra detailed and lean sounding. But was too veiled at the top, and had a softness to the overall sound (the Paradisea).

Yeah Evan, 'they' sell a lotta stuff I would never buy.  Like I don't own any Mariah Carey, but she sold bazillions.
Checks in the mail man.  :eyebrows:

I'm signing off.  Now you guys will wait to hear what Paul thinks next week.

I switched out the WE396a tube and  I put in the National 396a and I think this is better. Midrange still smooth but vocals have more weight to them. More depth. I like it better than the WE396a. I think I can get my hands on a Bendex 396a later today. I recall liking that the best in the Paradisea. This is a winner. Didn't I already say that. Well...it is.

Hey Evan,

Which tube did you like best.  From the above post you seem to like the National.  Did you get a chance to try the Bendix?

Another 2h with Maverick DAC.
More I listen, more I like it.
No tubes to roll. But that is OK.
It lets me fully concentrate on music rather then
glass and other distractions.
But no worries, I should have some tube selection
when I close this tour with final thoughts.

It feeds my monos directly and it serves as preamp/DAC.
For $200 or less, I just DO NOT know of any better value vs performence.
Writing about it couldn't be easier either as its shortcomings are overshadowed every time my wallet opens up with the smile on its face.
(it almost reminds me of Geico commercial)
But most importantly, it doesn't disgust me while switching between my reference DAC and D-1.
Actually, It is quite relaxing.........

Cheap bastard by nature?  ..... No, that is not me.  I do own several fine toys which represent my humble idea of what I consider reference/honey to my ears. But this thing is just
fun to own. Love it.

Yeah those Bendix are a little pricy. I may still have some Raytheon windmills I can part with. I also have a few WE and some cheap Sylvania JHS. PM me if anyone's interested.

best,
J

You'll spend  close to that regardless of the DAC price. Better tubes cost money. You should of stayed SS and not gone with that tube PRE.
