Totally off the grid

And I'm loving it. This system can play for days w/o being charged. I can play music any time of the day, no power conditioning, don't have to worry if the refer kicks on or turn of the A/C or ceiling fan.......
Best system I've ever had and NOTHING bested it at RMAF under $150 K. I kid you not.  Thanks Vinnie for your contribution.
I no longer go to the classifieds on the Gon.

Very nice!  Are those wood casings on all the equipment a custom design?

Thanks guys. Made them myself. All maple, with Mapleshade brass feet. Made the rack too. Got the brass all-thread at MacMaster-Carr. The amp has 2 100 AH Oddessey batteries, the transport and Ack! dac each have one 18AH Oddessey.
The 2 big boxes on the floor are the 100 AH's and the boxes to the left of the dac and below the Transport are the 18AH's.

What type of finish did you use on the maple, satin or high gloss, lacquor or polyurthane?

Anycase, some of best looking maple that I have seen.

Actually, it's an oil finish. All natural, breathes, etc. Easy to apply too.

Watco is also nice to work with. (works from inside out)
Just a thought.

Hi Mark,

Wow - very nice work!  Now that is a system to be proud about

So how many trees did you have to kill to get off the grid, marklivia style?  :green:

100Ah SLA batteries - now that is some SERIOUS current and you can play for weeks!  :singing:

I thought you need two SLAs for the Ack Dack (it runs on +/- 12V)?

Thanks for sharing!

Dang, Vinnie, you're right! There are 2 18AH batts on the Ack! dac. BTW, the Dueland output caps on the dac transformed the great bang for your buck Ack! into a world class, better than anything under $5K killer dac. Don't ask me how but they did.  The Dueland's ain't cheap but worth EVERY penny.
