Hi Jack,

Do you have any crossover frequency info for the Uni IIs?

Is it the same philosophy (ultrawideband midrange) as used in the Uni IIIs?

I am eager to see/hear lots more info about these speakers, so please keep it coming  :thumb:

Thanks

-Mike

Hi Jack,

I can imagine you can hardly wait.
Last weekend we had a fantastic hifishow in Antwerpen, Belgium.

Used the both Unifield's Two and Three.

Here are some pictures.

Have fun with yours and enjoy the music.

Cor,,, I now know what u've known since receipt of your Uni2's..   These stand mounted monitors can really sing with the best of them...  They simply trounce the VR4jr/anniv in every way.. More punch, broader soundstage, imaging champs, glorious midrange... on the warm side of neutral,, detail is smooth and crisp without sounding dry and the speaker is very engaging,, very musical on all disks played,, from The Doors to Eva Cassidy..  I'm waiting for custom 22" stands that are being built for Albert.. The fit and finish of both the Uni 2 and 3's are top notch....   Jack

I have the 5's set up in another room..  The 5's just give u more of everything I mentioned,,, more air around the instruments at the very top,, lots of presence in the mids and more bottom end punch that u can feel in the souls of your feet..  The 5's are a superbly intergrated instrument that is accurate, musical and true.  The 5's are just flat-out without peer in their catagory..  For a small to medium size room the Uni2's are shockingly good.

The Uni 3's I believe are closer to the 5's... holographic 3D imaging,,, speed and punch....

Something for everyone,, at every price point..

Hi Jack,

Good to read you have the same experience with the Unifield II. They make very realistic music.
And all of this for a this special nice price.
The stand is very important. That is why I build a special stand of hard stone and filled the pillars with leadshot at a weight of 50 kg.
Now they have a solid base to act like a full range speaker. The height of the stand depends of the room.
What size is your room?

Cor

jab,

How would you compare them to the VR5 Anniversaries?

Hi Gavin,

For the first time we used the Unifield II we put them close to the VR 5 SE.
A lot of visitors came in front to listen which speaker was sounding.
The Unifield II can act like a big system specially in small rooms where a floorsystem is to big.

As Jack already told, the VR 5 SE anniversary is superior sounding.

Cor

Cor, the room dimensions where my Uni 2's will reside are 11'x17' x 10' ceiling(feet).  My listening seat,,, I'm approx 14' away.  I'm guessing 22"(inch) stands??  Your stands look rock SOLID!!  Jack

Hi Jack,

Solid as a rock. Sounds good.
We think in meter and centimeter, but the converter gave me the wright parameters.
We use a stand at 52 cm (20.47")  from the floor, so you 22" should be more than enough.
If you make them taller you might loose some bass.

Hey Jab,

I have almost the same dimensions as you for a room, except my ceiling ht. is 9 feet.  I currently have Vr 4jr's and I am interested in your thoughts on the bass responce of the Uni2's in comparison to 4jr's on pop/rock music if you are familiar with the 4jr's that is...I have no dealer any where near me (east coast Canada)......thank you !

I lived with VR4jrs in this set-up/room for quite a while... I know the VR4Jr sound..  The Uni 2's offer better imaging,, tighter bass, detailed but smooth on top,, the 2's are fast and dynamic.. These are the monitors the Magico Mini's wish they could be at a third of the price! Call Albert to discuss since u have no dealer nearby..  Could be VSA will offer a "trial" before buying (you'd pay freight).  Beautifully finished they have mass....  Best,  Jack
