New GR Servo Sub Enclosure...TRADE FOR MAC....
« on: 8 Feb 2009, 01:49 pm »
Selling my personal Dymaxion enclosure.  This sub enclosure is identical to the 4 recently commissioned by Marbles from my studio except I veneered this one with Walnut Burl and Birds-eye Maple.  Finished with rubbed out high gloss lacquer.  It is designed, volume wise, for the 12" GR Servo sub driver.  Approx 1.6 cu.ft sealed, bottom firing.  The driver cutout has been made, just plug and play. asking $1600obo $1K + shipping/crating expenses or local pickup 45 mins east of Chicago.

More info here:  GR Enclosure

Me too, Hugh.  I'd be keeping them as I need at least two of them for my big room, probably 4 like Rob.  I do not plan to build more of these any time soon.  This single sub would make some great bass for someone with a smaller room.  I recently took a commission for an OB enclosure to fit two of Danny's drivers, if I have time between furniture projects I might make an extra one or two

Glad you are enjoying your subs, Rob

Chris,

Whenever you feel like building 3 more of those, let me know so we both can have 2 each.

Thanks,

F-100

I'm very very happy with the subs that Christof built for me.

They are identical to the one he has for sale except for the veneer.

Mine are simply flawless in detail.  Christof must be difficult to live with because he is a perfectionist.

The quality of bass must be heard.  They can rumble with the best of them, but their real strength is in how tight they can be when playing music.

The driver/amp combo in a similar sized sealed box, Danny Richie called the best sub he had ever heard.

I would have to agree with him.

Anyone who gets this sub should consider themselves very fortunate.

I agree wholeheartedly with Marbles. I have a pair of this sub for over 4 years now and absolutely love them. Recently, I upgrade the drivers to Shiva-X and they exhibit extremely tight bass, deep & fast. Highly recommended. :thumb: :thumb:

Sounds like you may be talking about 2 different subs?... This is the servo controlled subwoofer/amplifier from Gr research/Rythmik and are much newer and somewhat unique.  Are you saying you have the same kind of enclosure?

F-100 is talking strictly of the enclosure, his were designed for Shiva drivers and IIRC, were 3.0 Cu.ft, quite a bit larger than the GR sub I have for sale.  Here are F-100's subs before I shipped them out:
