The Neo-1X uses the M-130X woofer and new deep back cup Neo3pdr.

On axis, 10, 20, 30, and 40 degrees off axis.

Check out how smooth the speakers response is at 10 (orange) and 20 (yellow) degrees off axis.

Again the vertical off axis measurements are incredible. Shown here is the on tweeter axis, 6, 12, and 18 degrees above tweeter axis.

Spectral decay is really clean too.

And the impedance sweep.

This larger PE curved cabinet is a little on the large size in regards to the front baffle width, but the optimal air space is pretty good.

I thought I'd give you guys a little listening feedback.

I have been playing these and the Neo-2X with the single SW-12-04 Direct Servo sub. I am a little bit in awe from them. Even I am surprised at just how good this combo sounds.

The sound stage is as large and enveloping as anything I have ever heard from a mini-monitor design. But it is still pin point sharp with placement and sound stage depth.

It is almost as if I am still in some disbelief that this huge wall of room filling sound is coming from a small pair of speakers and a single sub.

I am still not sure if I like the Neo-2X or Neo-1X better. The differences are subtle. I am going to have to keep listening.

I think I'll have to rank this combo (with the servo sub) as being better than any sub-sat system I have heard to date. Honestly I feel pretty confident allowing this mini-monitors to be compared to anything other mini-monitor at any price point. They really are that good.

I have to go do some more listening now. I am a bit entranced by these.

Hold on there partner. You mean the combo of Neo1X+Direct Servo Sub or Neo2X+Direct Servo sub can compare with the likes of a Be-718?

If that's true, then that's an amazing value/bargain.

I agree w/ poseidonsvoice. If this is the case, that's saying a whole lot. Gotta keep my eye on these speakers for the future.

How is the sub hooked up to the speakers?

You can power the sub via speaker level input or RCA input and let the speakers play full range.

Yeah, it sounded killer in an open baffle. I may have to revisit that. I am thinking of a really interesting version of it to build.

Yeah, that is really too bad. I have the RAW OB2X and they are absolutely fabulous speakers. With a very small footprint and bass extension below 50 Hz, they are essentially an ultra compact open baffle mini monitor, complete with stands that serve as a bass module. Within their range they are among the best speakers I've heard regardless of price.

I think the difficulty there is that you can't get much bass at all out of an ~~open baffle 2 way~~ a single, open baffle, 5 1/4" driver... so you need the box to boost the bass frequency which requires a 3 way and therefore going to be bigger than a mini-monitor...

The M130 in OB will not generate any bass output.

Why would you want to put it on a stand? Stands are useless. The bass module in the OB2X acts as a stand but also serves a useful purpose.

John - I was wondering what you thought of that one... we had spoke a while back while it was on the way to you. I didn't see you post your experiences. Had you done that somewhere else? Happy to hear you are so satisfied

I know where you are coming from. I only said a little blurb about my initial impressions of the ob7 kit I built in my build thread here on the GR research board. But I really need to get something out on the review section. Need to give Danny the credit he is due for these amazing speakers. And its more likely to be seen there by those who don't already know of his work...
