I believe James had previously noted no THX.  For specs, there is a limitation on the analog inputs which caused some clipping on certain program material with the SP2/SP1.7

Hi Jim,

We are in the middle of building 6 units and then I should be able to give you details - need another month.

james

Is there any details you can provide about the specifications and price of the SP3?   I'm enjoying the BDP but need to decide if i'm going to pull the trigger on the BDA or the SP3.

I definitely join those interested in the SP3.  I thought I would keep my current pre/pro forever, but as it gets longer in the tooth, I am reconsidering.

If I decide to go with something more contemporary, the SP3 would be a front runner, depending on its specs and pricing.

Welcome back 66 - glad your OK.

We are currently building 6 units - if all goes well we are finally ready to go.

Retail looks to be about $9500 US.

Hi Al,

No the HDMI is used - we strip off the Audio on each specific input and just loop the Video out to do with as you please.

We are rethinking it - with all the changes and issues (3D etc) that video is going through we feel it is better left alone for now. There is room in the SP3 chassis to allow for a video section if we decided to move in that direction.

Hello James,

Any details about the remote and specifications you can share?   i.e. DAC(s) used for the audio, IR in or just RS-232? How can you program the 12-volt trigger?    Trim settings on inputs? Re-assignable inputs?  It was hard to see the text in the rear-view picture, but 1 L/R and 1 sub balanced outs right?

How is the SP3 sounding?   Better than the BP26?

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

The remote looks identical to the SP2 except the overlay is different of course. The DSP uses Cirrus Logic CS- 4398. Remote is IR and 232 and Network.

Trigger is programed from front panel menu.

No input trim just output trim.

Yes to re-assignable digital inputs.

One Sub Balanced out but we have 2 AUX outs we can use for more subs.

Only played with it in Surround so far so need more time - I think I would still give the BP26 the nod in stereo use.

james

Nice - Thanks James.
Still in discussions for a possible SP2 trade-in program to SP3 right?
