To Drive The Cold Winter Away by Lorenna McKennitt

She's been off the playlist for awhile, but I stumbled on this CD today.  Spectacular SQ and depth, must have been recorded in an old stone church.  Delicate Olde English Christmas music that you can listen to year-round.  Cello, harp, not much else.  An Amazon review summed it up perfectly.  "McKennitt's vocals on this are beautiful, ethereal, haunting, absolutely perfect."

Though I live in Japan, it's rare that I find many recording artists that I truly feel deserve the title of "artist." Much of it seems to fall into absurd or comical. But I recently came across a great band called "The Fin." They are an indie rock band singing in english, and have toured briefly in the States (as well as parts of Asia). Very great band and sound.
