For sale is an excellent condition pair of Sonus Faber Elipsa SE (Special Edition) loudspeakers in the amazing Graphite maple finish. Based on the nearly $50,000 Stradivari, the Elipsa SE is a highly refined Italian loudspeaker which was regarded at the CES show it was first released, as, "One of the finest sounds heard at this years show". This model, the new SE includes an upgraded crossover and improved mid-range driver.

Here is my ad on US Audiomart for more pictures.. feel free to contact me on either listing:  http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649361368-sonus-faber-elipsa-se-loudspeakers-stunning-high-gloss-graphite-maple/

This is a gorgeous stunning looking and sounding pair of speakers. They come complete with the original factory double-boxing, protective sleeves, owner's manuals, spike kit, & grills. Originally purchased approximately 2 and 1/2 years ago - I attached the purchase invoice for verification and authenticity. Matching Serial Numbers 707 for speakers and boxes. I don't see any blemishes or scratches on the speakers' finish but rated excellent to be safe. I am selling to help fund some unexpected medical expenses. I tried to take as many pictures as possible, but can send more if needed. Also willing to send a video of the Elipsa SEs playing. I have owned the Sonus Faber Olympica IIIs as well as these Elipsa SEs, and the Elipsas are a signification improvement - tighter and more pronounced bass, more open and transparent, and far more musical. The room placement is much easier than the Olympicas - much easier to fit in smaller rooms, as they can be placed closer to the back and side walls due to the cabinet shape and diminished resonances interference. Much easier to fit in regular room sizes compared to the bigger Stradivari, which need a lot more space for optimal sound. The Elipsa SE cabinet is inspired by the idea of a pair of conjoined lutes, which naturally results in an enclosure that is wider than it is deep. The shape creates an infinite baffle for the drivers. This greatly improves the interaction of the room itself from the sonic equation allowing the speaker to sound like its in a much larger space, and not be constricted by smaller listening rooms. Even the cabinet materials, hand-selected staves of layered maple, are specifically oriented to reduce resonance.

Please add Paypal and Shipping to the selling price. Due to the hassle and price to ship, I am willing to meet near the PA, Ohio, Virgina, Maryland, DC, NY area. Feel free to contact to discuss. I am willing to ship in the Continental US, so please contact for a shipping quote if a serious buyer.

Retail MRSP $23,000  Asking: $11,000

The Sonus faber Elipsa Special Edition is a modified and upgraded version of the already exceptional performing Elipsa. Chief among the updates is the implementation of the same high frequency drive unit found in the flagship model of the homage range, the Stradivari. The addition of this ultra-high performance ring radiator provides an extraordinary level of sonic refinement, openness and extension.

FEATURES:
Cabinet
Elliptical shaped enclosure crafted using sandwich construction techniques with 20 hand-selected wood layers of solid maple. Each layer is graded and oriented for optimized resonance control and the sub-structural ribs are strategically placed for absolute rejection of spurious vibration and standing wave control.

Woofer
10 in. (260 mm) lightweight Aluminum/Magnesium alloy cone driver. Ultra dynamic performance and linearity. Special coaxial anti-compressors are used, designed to remove cavity resonance and distortions.

Midrange
6 in. (150 mm) cone driver with Symmetric Drive Motor System and hand-selected “black wood” fiber cone treated for control of break-up. Driver features a dynamic linear suspension designed synergistically with its vented acoustic chamber.

Tweeter
1.3 in. (33 mm) ultra dynamic linearity ring radiator driver using a neodimium magnet structure with dual-toroidal wave-guide. A natural wood “acoustic labyrinth” rear chamber functions synergistically as a mechanical anti-resonance device.

Crossover
Non-resonant second order design with optimized phase characteristics for optimal space/time performance. Crossover points 250Hz and 2.3kHz.
